A visit to the Van Gogh museum is a must. The van Gogh museum houses the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world. The museum is situated in the Amsterdam's Museum Quarter behind the Rijksmuseum.

One can reach the Van Gogh museum from the Avenue Hotel Amsterdam by foot & combine it with a visit to the Rijksmuseum.  For those not wishing to walk it is a short tram ride away.
